Some say we shouldn't read the Bible "because it's hard to understand," therefore, they say, we should leave the interpreting of it to the "experts." I do not subscribe to that perspective at all.

It seems implausible to me that God would put mankind on the earth and say to him, "good luck, I hope you make it," and go his merry way. No, he gave us the "manufacturer's handbook," to reveal to us who he is, what his principles are, and how we are to come to him.

So let's take a look at some of these truths as we delve into the Word of God so that we can know and understand his purposes and his Father's heart, for he has given to us his Word containing "all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us." (2nd Peter 1:3)
